1) Mount Nemrut National Park / Adıyaman

Mount Nemrut National Park: This mountain, which stands at an altitude of 2150 meters, is not only a cultural heritage for our country but also a unique one for the whole world. That’s precisely why UNESCO has not overlooked Mount Nemrut and has included it in the list of world cultural heritage sites. The main reason for adding the Nemrut statue, often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world, to this list is the presence of inscriptions alongside the statue. In addition to the statues, there are also monumental tombs. What sets this mountain apart from others and makes it special are the Tumulus and statues of King Antiochus I of Commagene. The Kingdom of Commagene can also be described as a genetic conglomerate, a powerful kingdom with a solid tradition and culture established by Persians and Greeks. Commagene’s lands have continued to be a homeland for people since ancient times, as evidenced by the remains discovered in caves and through archaeological excavations.

Amasya, a city whose every street smells of history, hosted both the Ottoman and pre-Ottoman civilizations. You can reach the tombs by passing through the narrow streets of Hatuniye District. Between the tombs, there are paths and stairs carved into the rocks. Although it is known that there are 21 tombs of various sizes throughout the Yeşilırmak Valley, only a few have survived to the present day.

7) Salda Lake – Yeşilova / Burdur

Salda Lake: Among the most beautiful lakes of Turkey, Salda Lake is one of the places that best portrays the hidden geological perfection of Turkey. We can say that the appeal of Salda, which has become much more famous lately, is increasing. The reason for this is the work carried out by Burdur – Yeşilova Municipality, to which Salda is affiliated. These include not only promotional activities, but also the satisfaction experienced with the free services offered to those who come to visit Lake Salda and the fact that everyone recommends Salda to others, increasing the popularity of the lake.

8) Cumalıkızık Village / Bursa

Cumalıkızık Village: Cumalıkızık Village is the heritage of the Ottoman Empire with its narrow streets, stone roads, atmosphere full of history and timeless houses. The village, which has lost nothing of its historical texture despite its 700-year history, was included in the Unesco world heritage list in 2014. You can have the chance to travel in different textures by going to many places in Bursa, which is one of the preferred places for those who want to spend the weekend to the fullest instead of a long-term holiday. Cumalıkızık Village, the oldest of these, can be reached with a short journey from the city center. You can reach a mysterious village life within the city at the foothills of Uludağ, sip your tea under the shade of timeless plane trees, walk through the narrow streets, each leading to the village square, and keep the colorfully painted houses with bay windows alive with your photographs.

9) Gölyazı Village / Bursa

Gölyazı Village: Gölyazı Village is a small fishing village located on the shores of Uluabat lake in Bursa’s Nilüfer District. Is there such a place in Turkey with its view and environment? Although it has a beauty that makes you say, many people do not know about the existence of this place. Even certain parts of Bursa do not even know that this place is in Bursa. We wanted to introduce you to this village more closely by exchanging ideas with our writers who are in Bursa.

Local people love fishing from seven to seventy, usually on weekends. As we mentioned at the beginning, this is a small fishing village. In this village, both men and women fish, and you can come across women sitting on the street and knitting fishing nets. And I would especially like to point out that the people of the village are friendly, very warm-hearted and hospitable.

10) Pamukkale Travertines / Denizli

Pamukkale Travertines: One of the most beautiful places not only in our country but also in the world is Denizli Pamukkale Travertines. Every year, thousands of foreign and local tourists come to this place, which is registered as a historical heritage by UNESCO. It’s a fairy tale place. You may think you are in a wonderland. After the crowded and concrete cities, walking in a natural and organic formation leaves neither stress nor sorrow, worry and trouble!

Hotels and roads were built at the point where the travertines are located. These buildings were closed after it was seen that they were damaging the travertines. It is an important step, albeit late, to prevent the white color from being replaced by a dark cloud. It is no longer possible to enter the travertines with shoes or slippers. You can walk on them with bare feet. There are many large and small pools. The waters in these pools are a source of healing. Entering the pools is free.
